Library of Things

Adult patrons (18+) with a valid CW MARS library card in good standing* are able to check out items from the Library of Things.

*Accounts that are expired or have more than $10 in fines to any CWMars library may not check out passes.

Due to the nature of items in the Library of Things Collection, the lending policy differ from other items in the collection.

Did you know that the Richards Memorial Library was the first library in Massachusetts to receive a telescope donation from John Root?

Observe objects from your own backyard using a technique called star-hopping when you borrow our telescope.

This telescope was donated to the library by John C. Root in memory of his wife, Susan E. Root, and is maintained by Aldrich Astronomical Society, Inc. as part of their Adopt a Library Program.

Adults may check out the telescope after signing our telescope agreement.

Literacy kits were created by the library and include books and activities.

Please note: if any items in the kit are lost or damanged, the library will add a fee to your CW Mars account so that we may replace the item. 

Science, Technology, Engineering & Math Kits

Our STEM kits for young patrons are made possible by a generous grant from the Barre Charitable Savings Trust.

1 kit per family. You are welcome to check out a another kit when you return the first one intact.

No Holds, no ILL

Kit must be returned in person to the Circulation Desk at Richards Memorial Library.

Please note: if any items in the kit are lost or damanged, the library will add a fee to your CW Mars account so that we may replace the item. 

Lending Policies: 1 game per family; no exceptions.  You are welcome to check another Swtich game when you return the one on your account.
